The blog has once again taken a back seat to the busy-ness of life lately… the draft of this post has been waiting for me for the better part of two weeks!
What I’ve been wanting to share are the artful experiences I had ‘roaming’ around Edmonton the last few weeks – and I’m referring to art of both the visual and digestible varieties.
First off, Brad and I visited the new Transcend Coffee location in Garneau (we’ve been there a few times in the last few weeks, actually). IMO, a great latte is made just that much better when the creamy foam is used as a canvas for some skillfully poured latte art. Seeing a pretty leaf or a flower in my cup never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I was also lucky enough to get free admission to the Art Gallery of Alberta (part of a speaker series co-hosted by the organization I work for).
As much as I enjoyed the art in the galleries – the Karsh installment, in particular – seeing the building itself up close was one of the best parts. If you know Edmonton, you know that this is an absolute stand out in terms of crazy architecture. It’s fantastic!

And finally, sharing a gourmet cupcakes with my girlfriends at Fuss Cupcakes on Whyte Ave on a sunny Sunday afternoon was a delectable experience! I’m inspired to try making my own gourmet cupcakes – though I doubt they would turn out as beautifully as these… (at least on the first few attempts!).

Tomorrow morning Brad and I head to the airport bright and early to catch a flight to Mexico for our friends’ wedding. It’s going to be a fantastic time & a much needed break. I’m also looking forward to rounding out the blog with a few more ‘roam’ posts over the next month – my upcoming trips to Norway, Montreal and Idaho will also provide lots of blog fodder!
