Bending & Funding

I’ve always wanted to try yoga.  Well, I have tried it on my own – with books and video podcasts and the like – but that doesn’t really count… how do you know if you’re doing it right if there’s no one there to correct you?

So when my friend Amy asked if I wanted to join her in a class starting this week at the Family Yoga Centre, I decided to finally give it a shot.

Our first class was yesterday after work, and – with the minor exception of one slightly awkward pose involving two chairs, a bolster and two foam blocks – I really enjoyed it! I felt wonderfully relaxed and realigned (and exhausted!) afterward. What a great way to round off a day.  I’ll be looking forward to my Tuesday evenings for the next couple of months!

On an entirely different note: Easter gifts at our house are usually of the sugary and chocolately variety – chocolate bunnies and eggs, peeps and jelly beans, and such. But this year, Brad’s Easter gift to me was quite a bit more substantial, and potentially much more tasty!  He gave me a small wad of cash (pictured above) with the express instructions that it be used to “feed” this blog.  (It may not have many readers right now, but it’s great to know that my little blog has such great support! :D )

I’ve been thinking about what I might use it for.  These are some of my ideas so far:

Clearly, I have some decisions to make! And, you’ll hear all about them in future posts!

We went to the new Art Gallery of Alberta a few weeks ago when my parents were in town. It was great! Very busy though … so if you go, go early!
Glad to hear your loving the yoga! :)
